The minute we started to explore this city, I kept saying to my husband that I would love to live here for a year, just like an artist, picking a place guided only by his feelings. Amsterdam itself is so beautiful, you can`t go there and come back the same soul. I can perfectly imagine ourselves having breakfast at the coffee shop on the corner, riding a bike in the morning, spending afternoons in art galleries, buying new books every week, hugging each other while watching rainy evenings from our little cute house. I could do all of that for one year!
This year I asked for my birthday an experience, a trip in a place I`ve never been before. Amsterdam was on my list for a while and I thought maybe it`s time for a dream to become true. Amsterdam! We flew from Geneva and in only 1h30 we landed in this charming city. In June the weather is still more spring than summer, so a coat and an umbrella are required. The city is visited by millions of tourists every year so central areas are always very crowded. But when it rains, the small streets surrounded by cute ginger bread houses quickly become quiet and empty, ready to be explored. I was just obsessed taking pictures of every corner, every cute door and every tiny canal.
My husband organized everything for Amsterdam and believe me he is good doing surprises. Well, in 4 days I got a little bit of everything. On my birthday we basically spent the day celebrating, actually we started drinking champagne one day before and eventually we would end up our adventure on the water having an entire boat singing “happy birthday” to me. We had a lot of fun in Amsterdam, and cold too. So for those who always dreamed to visit Amsterdam I`m happy to share with the best things to see and do in this unique and inspiring city.
